Symptoms

What’s your AC doing?

Tell us what it’s doing. That’s usually half the diagnosis.

Blowing warm air

Low refrigerant, a failed capacitor, a dirty coil or a tired compressor. We test, then tell you which one.

Leaking water

Usually a clogged drain line or a frozen coil. Caught early, it’s a quick fix. Left alone, it can stain ceilings and ruin floors.

Making noise

Grinding, buzzing, squealing or rattling usually means a motor, a fan or an electrical part is on its way out.

Won’t turn on

Thermostat, breaker, drain safety switch or a failed part. We check the simple things first, so you don’t pay for what you don’t need.

Ice on the lines

Ice means an airflow or refrigerant problem. Turn the system off, let it thaw and call us.

Never shuts off

If it runs all day and the house still won’t cool, or your power bill suddenly jumped, something is making it work too hard.

The visit

How a repair visit works

  1. You call, we come out

Tell us what’s going on. We set a time that works for you and show up when we say we will.

  2. We find the problem

We check the whole system and explain what’s wrong in plain English.

  3. You get the price first

A clear price before any work starts. You say yes, then we fix it. No surprises on the bill.

  4. We fix it and test it

We don’t leave until it’s blowing cold and you’ve felt it yourself. And we clean up after ourselves.

Diagnosed first.
Then the price.

No work starts until you say yes

Common repairs

What we fix most

  • Capacitors and contactors. The small electrical parts that start your AC. They’re the most common failure in South Florida heat, and often fixed on the first visit.
  • Refrigerant leaks. We find the leak and fix it before we recharge the system. Topping it off without fixing the leak just means paying for refrigerant again next month.
  • Drain lines and pans. Clogged lines cause most water leaks. We clear them and show you how to keep them clear.
  • Fan and blower motors. They wear out from running almost every day of the year. We test them before we replace anything.
  • Compressors. The heart of the system. If yours fails, we price the repair and a new system side by side, so you can choose.
  • Thermostats. Sometimes the problem is the thermostat, not the AC. We check it first.
  • Ductless mini-splits. We repair and clean mini-splits too, wall units included.

Straight answer

Repair or replace? We’ll tell you straight.

Most ACs are worth fixing. If yours is more than about 12 to 15 years old, needs a compressor or keeps breaking, a new system can cost less over time. We’ll price both and let you decide, with no pressure either way.

Maintenance

AC tune-ups

In South Florida your AC runs almost all year. A tune-up catches small problems before they turn into a breakdown on the hottest day, and helps keep your power bill down.

Once a year is the minimum. If your AC runs nonstop, twice a year is better.

What we do

  • Clean the indoor and outdoor coils
  • Flush the drain line
  • Check the refrigerant pressure
  • Test the capacitor, contactor and wiring
  • Check the blower and fan motors
  • Check the thermostat
  • Clean or replace the filter

Heating repair

Heat pumps and heat strips, for the few cold nights we get each year. If yours blows cold when you switch to heat, trips the breaker or won’t come on at all, call us.

FAQ

Questions

How much does an AC repair cost?
It depends on what’s wrong. We find the problem first and give you the price before any work starts.
Can you come today?
On most calls, yes. If your AC is completely out, call the 24/7 line instead of booking online.
Why is my AC running but not cooling?
The most common causes are a dirty filter, a clogged coil, low refrigerant or a failed capacitor. Check the filter and the breaker first. If it’s still blowing warm, turn it off so it doesn’t freeze up, and call us.
Why is water leaking from my AC?
Usually the drain line is clogged and the pan is overflowing. Turn the system off to stop the water, and call us. It’s often a quick fix.
Do you repair all brands?
Yes. Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem, Daikin and the rest, plus ductless mini-splits.
Do you fix AC for businesses?
Yes. Offices, stores and restaurants. We also repair commercial refrigeration.
